Coney Island Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound hamburg 90% lean is good
  • 1 1/2 onion, chopped fine
  • 2 1/4 tsp. cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 2 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp heaped ground red pepper
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • 1-12 oz can tomato paste

Directions
  1. Brown hamburger and onion breaking up the large pieces.
  2. Then add all ingredients to this pan.
  3. Now add one cup boiling water and simmer for one hour, add more water as necessary to maintain a sauce.
  4. Add a pinch of sugar if needed.
  5. Top your hot dog with homemade coney sauce... You'll love it! This sauce freezes well too!
